Yes, there is a difference between orthopedic and orthotic services. Orthopedics is the branch of medicine that deals with diseases, injuries, and conditions of the musculoskeletal system. This includes the bones, joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons, nerves and soft tissues.

In contrast, orthotics focuses on the design, manufacture and fitting of orthopedic devices. These devices are used to support, align, prevent or correct deformity, improve function, and reduce pain. Orthotics can be either custom-made or off-the-shelf products.
